Making a booking

Can I hold an option on a property?

An option may be taken for the rental of any chosen property by telephone, email or directly by the website.

Is there a minimal rental period?

Apartments / Villas: The usual minimum rental period is one week. Rentals less than a week : Contact us.

Check in usually takes place on Saturday between 4.00 pm and 7.00 pm.

How can I check to see if a property is still available?

If you go to the details page of the property you will see a calendar at the bottom of the page. The green boxes means the property is still available; the orange means the property has already been reserved. This calendar is updated daily!

Click on the calendar in order to select your preferred arrival and departure dates. Then, click on the magnifying glass to check availability and get information about the price of the selected period.

Are Pets allowed?

Generally if in the property description it states that 'Pets : Yes' then it is generally ok. We do however require some information about your pet before hand, such as its size, what kind of pets etc., as we do need to get final approval from the owners of the property.


When does my option become a confirmed booking?

The option becomes a confirmed booking after the signing of the contract and upon receipt of the first instalment of payment. The first instalment is usually 25% of the total rental price for the period requested.

How is payment made?

Payments can be made by personal check, credit cards (Visa or Mastercard), bank transfer or cash.

When must I pay the balance for my rental?

The balance must be paid within 30 days prior to the first day of the rental period.

For last minute reservations made less 30 days before the planned arrival date, payment in full is due immediately.

How is the damage deposit paid?

Apartments / Villas: The client’s credit card details are noted and pre authorisation is obtained at the entrance. Following a full inspection of the property on your departure and in case of damage, moneys are withdrawn to cover the costs of any replaced item(s).

Prestige Villas: The damage deposit is paid either by credit card or wire transfer prior to the property rental.

What is the amount of the damage deposit?

The damage deposit amount will vary depending on the property rented. The exact amount will be noted on your rental contract.

When is the damage deposit refunded?

Apartments / Villas: The damage deposit will not be debited from your card unless damage was caused to the property.

Prestige Villas: Following a full inspection of the property on your departure, if no damages are reported, the damage deposit is refunded in full within approximately 7 days. In case of damage caused to the property the balance will be refunded minus the cost of the replaced item(s). The delay for refund in case of damage will vary depending on the type of damage.

Are there any extra costs?

Linge de maison et taxes locales sont à payer sur place.

Linen and local taxes have to be paid locally. For rental properties indicating that linens and/or towels have to be brought, it means they cannot be rented or obtained locally.

Any other additional services, such as extra cleaning, garage, telephone, etc… are not included and have to be paid locally. For each reservation Home Sud will charge automatically booking fees of 20 €.

Cancelling your booking

What is our cancellation Policy?

If you wish to change any accommodation arrangement we will endeavour to do so. If, however, you request a change of accommodation 45 days or more before arrival date this will be treated as a cancellation and the following cancellation charges will be due. Should you have to cancel your accommodation, you will incur the following cancellation charges:

  • Cancellations made 45 days or more before arrival : 25% of rental cost.
  • Cancellations made 44 days to 30 days before arrival : 50% of rental cost.
  • Cancellations made 29 days to 7 days before arrival : 80% of rental cost.
  • Cancellations made less then 7 days before arrival : 100% of rental cost.

Getting to and from your property

Where is the most convenient airport located?

Nice côte d’azur airport is 17 miles (27 km) from Cannes. The trip takes around 30-40 minutes by car.

How can I travel to and from Nice airport?

A direct express bus service runs daily from arrivals at Nice airport's terminal 2 to Cannes. Alternatively, catching a taxi costs approximately 80 euros.

Can Home Sud Estate organise airport transfers for me?

Yes. Rates are available on request depending on cars and services required.

Either personal car hire or a chauffeur driven vehicle can be arranged to be at your disposal. Helicopter and Private jet can also be arranged to any of the chosen airport.

Upon arrival

Where will I collect my keys?

You should arrive between 4.00 pm and 7.00 pm on the day of commencement of your booking.

A member of the Home Sud Estate team or the owner will prearrange to meet you at your property.

During your stay

Who can I call for assistance?

Please call or for urgent inquiries; alternatively we can welcome you at our office Monday to Friday from 9am to 7pm.

What are the check out times?

Check out usually takes place on Saturday at 10am.
